How much does it cost?
Leisure Bridgewater Charters has over 50+ boats to choose from (and growing), therefore prices for each vessel varies greatly. Our role is to assist with your enquiry and recommend vessels that suit your requirements and budget to help facilitate the perfect event or celebration. How do I know if the boat I like is available?
Leisure Bridgewater Charters will check the availability for each vessel for your selected date and email you a free quote outlining all costs. This allows you to compare not just the boats but catering, costs, beverages and so on in order to make an informed decision.
How do I book a charter?
To confirm your booking, we take a 50% deposit of the final amount. Payment can be made by EFT, Visa, MasterCard or bank transfer. The remaining amount will be due 14 days prior to the charter along with final numbers and food and beverage requirements. For more info check out ‘Organising a boat charter 101.’
Why are the prices varied?
All quotes provided are in Australian Dollars and include GST. Prices are subject to change without notice. Seasonal rates may apply, in which case the lowest rate represented is off-peak and the higher rate is peak season. Please enquire within to confirm the rate at the time of your intended charter. Surcharges for weekends and public holidays may also apply.
How long can I charter a boat for?
Minimum 4 hour boat charter unless specified otherwise on specific boat pages.
Can I view the boat before booking?
We welcome the opportunity to show you around your preferred boat. Most of our vessels are free for inspection, however this is subject to availability. Please check with our team for more information on boat viewings.
How long do we have to board?
Guests have a strict 15 minute window to board and disembark the vessel at the wharves unless otherwise specified.
What if there’s bad weather?
Unfortunately we cannot guarantee sunshine and blue skies. If the weather is considered dangerous at the discretion of Leisure Bridgewater Charters and the operating captain, we will postpone and reschedule the charter for within 6months of the original date. Payment will still apply for catering or optional staff arrangements in the event of postponement. If you choose not to reschedule, the charter will then be considered as a cancelation, and fees will apply – please see Cancelation information below. Sydney Harbour is one of the safest harbours in the world and is well protected from strong ocean currents and associated winds. Plus as you can read here, there are many positive benefits to charter a boat in winter!
What if I need to cancel?
More than 60 days prior: If another booking is secured for the same date and time for the same value, the deposit will be refunded less a $500 management fee. If there is not another booking secured, the deposit is not to be refunded.
Between 60-28 days prior: The deposit is non refundable
Cancellations made 28 – 14 days prior: The deposit or full payment is non refundable. Consideration will be given to food, staff and boat costs incurred due to cancellation.
Cancellations made less than 14 days prior: Full payment is non refundable
How about rescheduling?
Rescheduling of the charter is up to the boat owner’s decision, availability on preferred date, and time of the year. There is a fee of $300 for rescheduling the charter.
Where is pick up & drop off?
Wharf Booking fees apply to all locations. Some vessels may not be able to pick up from certain wharves due to size or other wharf conditions. We are happy to suggest the most suitable locations for your group.
Can I BYO food & beverages?
Some vessels allow BYO and in which case, substantial food must be provided or the vessel will not depart the wharf. Please enquire within for more info about BYO regarding specific boats. Alternatively we can suggest our recommended caterers.
Can I have my charter catered?
Most boats have their own individual catering supplier with several different menus available to choose from. These include: canapé, buffet and formal dining options. Costs will vary based on menu, boat and headcount so contact us today for a quote.
Who drives the boat?
The captain and fuel are included in the vessel hire price. Sometimes there are additional extras that are included for individual boat charters and these will be itemised on the boat detail page in the prices section.
Do the boats have internet access?
Yes, some vessels have wifi. If this is a requirement, let us know and we will point out some suitable options.
Where can we go on the charter?
Your skipper can take you most places within Sydney Harbour, providing it is within the surveyed boundaries.
Can I play my own music?
Yes – all of our boat charter vessels have an AUX cord which is compatible with most devices such as a smartphone (providing it has a headphone jack).
Can I decorate the boat in advance?
Yes, we will work with you to establish a time that allows you access to the vessel to decorate.
Can we bring entertainment?
Arrangements can be made to include the likes of photographers, celebrants, live bands and DJs. Please note that extra personnel for your event will have to be included in your total passenger count. See here for some entertainment options available.
What do I need to bring?
As conditions can vary, we suggest bringing a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, a swimming costume and jumper or jacket. Please wear white-soled shoes or non-marking boat shoes. Strictly no black soled shoes or stiletto heels, as this will damage the decking.
Can I stay overnight?
Yes, some boats allow overnight charters on request however they do have restrictions to the amount of people who can stay. Please enquire with us if you would like a quote for this option.
Can my guests & I swim?
Most vessels have swimming ladders or platforms to enable this activity while anchored. If you want to swim, the captain can take you to a secluded bay, click here for some of our favourites. Please let us know if you wish to do so that we can recommend a boat that allows this.
Do you organise VIP charters?
Absolutely! We’re happy to recommend and help facilitate a luxury super yacht charter for exclusive guests and VIPs providing a five star experience. Our super yachts feature luxury finishes, beautifully decorated interior and exterior spaces, dedicated wait staff and the option of a private chef.
Is there refrigeration available on the boats?
Yes, all boats have either eskies or fridges for keeping drinks and food cool. For BYO boat charters, ice is usually arranged at an additional cost.
